The Network of Resources has updated and improved the services offered by openEO Platform.
First, a company neutral presentation of openEO Platform services has been adopted by using only the Platform service logos, largely independent of the backend operators (currently VITO Terrascope, EODC and SentinelHub), thereby better representing the platform federation.
Second, new DPaaS offerings have been included including sen2like, fuseTS/MOGPR or the Windturbine mapping algorithm.
These on-demand algorithms are offered by openEO platform backend operators but also independent algorithm providers from the larger EO ecosystem such as DHI Grass. This DPaaS offering will be greatly diversified in the near future.
This service can be now accessed by visiting the NoR Portfolio.
The Network of Resources has increased the number of service providers with adwäisEO.
In the NoR portfolio, adwäisEO will provide its IaaS services to perform efficient solutions in cloud and/or HPC for EO data.
Various functions such as virtual machines, data storage, bare metal servers will be made available to users.
Each service can be configured via the self-service portal. This service can be accessed by visiting the NoR Portfolio.

The Network of Resources brings people to data in several ways. One of the possibilities is by funding challenges like the one organized in the context of the AI4EO Challenges by ESA, the Norwegian Computing Center, the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Polar View, Nansen Environmental Remote Sensing Center (NERSC), called The Sea Ice Challenge (AutoICE).
The Sea Ice Challenge (AutoICE) aims to bring together AI and Earth Observation players to address the challenge of “automated sea ice mapping” from Sentinel-1 SAR data. The objective of the AutoICE challenge is to advance the state of the art of sea ice parameter retrieval from SAR data resulting in an increased capacity to derive more robust and accurate automated sea ice maps.
The NoR contribution to the challenge allowed the organizations to find solutions to push forward the new capability to retrieve multiple parameters, specifically, sea ice concentration, stage of development, and floe size.
Recent developments of the SNAPPING services (IFG, PSI Med, and PSI Full) hosted on the Geohazards TEP, are now available on the NoR Portfolio, providing S-1 advanced interferometric analysis as they are capable of detecting, apart from seasonal variability, more complex temporal motion patterns.
Discover the SNAPPING services and much more on the NoR Portal.
EuroCrops, a dataset collection combining all publicly available self-declared crop reporting datasets from countries of the European Union, has been added to the Sentinel Hub offering on the NoR Portfolio together with a new algorithm for Draught Impact and SkySat data.
Discover the Euro Data Cube’s new data and services on the NoR Portal.
The Network of Resources has increased the number of service providers with T-Systems Open Telekom Cloud. In the NoR portfolio, T-Systems will provide its IaaS service based on OpenStack technology. Various functions such as virtual machines, data storage, object-oriented and relational databases, as long as virtual private clouds will be made available to users. Each service can be configured via the self-service portal or APIs. This service can be accessed by visiting the NoR Portfolio. Find out more about how to join the NoR.
The Network of Resources has increased the number of service providers with WASDI. In the NoR portfolio, WASDI will provide its DPaaS services to access satellite data from Sentinels to commercial data providers. As their mission is “democratizing Earth Observation”, they allow expert and non-expert users to run algorithms, visualize and evaluate results, and share projects with the team. This service is available in Standard or Professional license and can be accessed by visiting the NoR Portfolio. Find out more about how to join the NoR.
The Network of Resources is continuously increasing its portfolio of services. This year has seen an additional 6 providers joining the community with their data collections, tools and infrastructures enabling users to work with EO data in the Cloud:
CODE-DE, UP-42, Polar View, Cropix, MEEO and Urban TEP.
Learn more about the NoR Portfolio and how to join the NoR.
Actively providing access to more than 900 service offerings from 23 different providers since February 2021, the Network of Resources Portfolio has now been further improved with a new release. Among the new features, this improved version includes, for each service, a more intuitive information layout including providers’ logos, service type, the creation of a Pricing Wizard (previously Sponsoring Wizard) with the possibility to select the most appropriate funding source for the project and much more!

CODE-DE offers high-performance access to all Copernicus data about Germany. Through the connection to one of the largest online data archives for satellite data of the European Copernicus Mission, more than 18 PB of data are available and can either be processed directly in the CODE-DE cloud or downloaded. The portfolio provides a quick overview of the typical field of application of each product, the availability on CODE-DE and a short note on how to access and use. The easy-to-use EO-Browser allows a quick search for suitable data and visualises the selected scenes on the map. In addition, predefined processors can be used to create initial analyses such as a vegetation index. The powerful tool for data access, the EO Finder opens up the entire archive. IN addition to data search and virtualisation, data processing can be performed “on-the-fly” with a number of processors.
